Watarase water storage area
With the area of 33 square km, Watarase is the widest water storage area in Japan. It locates on the boundary of four prefectures of Tochigi, Gumma, Ibaraki and Saitama. It can store up to 200 million cubic meters to avoid flood. Usually the area is almost dry and is a heaven of a lot of wild animals. On the weekends, a row of tens of super-telephoto lens is another spectacle. But on weekdays, it is so quiet that you can hear nothing but the twittering of wild birds, the whispering of wind and the splash of jumping fish.
